Our week focused on the openings of our area SK businesses. The concept, creation, and opening a business is never fully understood until is had been implemented and opened for the first time. The businesses required that each child have a thorough understanding of his/her responsibility and remembering that teamwork is imperative in such a venture. Each business fulfilled that expectation beautifully. Thursday afternoon, our class went to the
Children's Kitchen and made a pot full of elbow pasta as a taste test before the
Pasta Bowl opened Friday afternoon. The toppings included, Butter, Mild Cheddar and Parmesan Cheese. Hip, Hip, Hooray, the pasta passed the test and we were ready for our the Grand Opening. Everyone took their positions and the customers began coming. Mrs.
Jeffers' class was first, followed by Mrs.
McMinn's and Mrs. Pierson's classes. Our class was starving after the store closed, so we ate too. A great big thank to the mom's of Mackenzie and Drew. Their assistance was greatly appreciated by all of us! Going back to Tuesday, our c

lass went to Mrs.
McMinn's class for the opening of
Stop and Loaf.

Here our class enjoyed a choice of Blueberry, Lemon Poppy Seed, Pumpkin, or Banana Bread and cold white or chocolate milk. "YUM"! Wednesday, our class enjoyed
Bowling in the Dark at Mrs.
Jeffers' classroom and a light snack of Lemonade and Popcorn. "Awesome"! We entered
Books and Beyond and gathered for a story time and then enjoyed Hot Cocoa,

Brownie/Rice
Krispie treats while quietly browsing through books that had been written by the children. "Great"! The above mentioned experiences will be remembered by each child for many years to come. As SK teachers, we feel is was an incredible experience for all of us! Hip, Hip, Hooray for our SK classes! We enjoyed having Skip's mom join us for his
Special Person Day! Skip's mom told us that as a baby Skip cried a lot. But when he wore earphones and listened to music, Skip was happy all of the time! Perhaps that is why Skip likes to dance! Please remember that we meet at the rink at 8:10 the for lessons. Bring 100th Day Collection Tuesday. Put a Face of First Grade Thursday, and Family Skate at 1:30 Friday! The February calendar is posted on the Portal. See you Tuesday!
