Wow! What a special week! Earlier, the children were busy making final preparations for their guests to arrive. They painted huge turkey feathers to go around
Mr. Turkey and recited a poem by the sam

e name. Even in the middle of this exciting week, Sophie's mom came and made a pumpkin pie with the class. As you can see from our p
icture album, each child had a hand in making the pie. Ask your child what special ingredient he/she added to the bowl. We even baked it in our own lower school kitchen downstairs! The class enjoyed eating the pie Tuesday afternoon and said that it was DELICIOUS! Parents, many thanks for assisting the children in learning their turkey riddles. The children also wrapped gifts, wrote about the SK Feast and wrote and illustrated a small
I Am Thankful book. I hope your child remembered to say the poem,
Let's Be Thankful as well. The applesauce was meantt to be part of your Thanksgiving festivities too. Let me give you a summary of our
Grandparents/Special Friends morning. Guests arrived and chit-chatted for a brief time. After the
Pledge of Allegiance and several patriotic songs the class did calendar activities followed by th

eir fantastic turkey riddles presentation, after which the children joined their guests. There were ten groups and each group was given an enve
lope with a
Morning Message to unravel. It was a great opportunity to have our guests see how the class is exploring capitalization, words, syllabication, reading, and punctuation skills. It took awhile but I think everyone had fun with the activity. The children presented their gifts, invited guests to enjoy a snack,

and then had pictures taken with Mr. Turkey. Please thank your guests for visiting us on such a special day! Many thanks to Madison's mom for being our phoptgrapher and my go to mom all morning, to Bella's mom for the juice and water, Hunter's mom for paper goods, and Jackson's mom for yummy snack! In preparartion for next week, leaders of the day will be, Skip, Monday; Jackson, Tuesday; Anthony, Wednesday; Drew, Thursday; and Bella, Friday. Children may visit the
Holiday Shop with volunteers from on class on
Tuesday, December 2nd or December 8th IF YOU HAVE signed the permission slip located on the Portal IN THE LS FRIDAY FOLDER. Just wanted to say that I truly appreciate the priveledge of being the teacher to these fourteen wonderful children and getting to know your amazing families. More adventures await on Monday!
Thank you so much Mrs. Camp for the wonderful blog. We enjoy seeing the happenings of the SK classroom and the pictures are always exciting to see our children in action, and we know there is a lot of action going on in the classroom! What a fun Thanksgiving week and Grandparents Day everyone had. Thank you for the warm welcome for my parents, they really very much enjoyed their special time in the classroom that day. My dad was so proud to be there with the class! Thanks! And I know that Jackson really enjoyed the time as well and to show off his SK room, friends, and his Mrs. Camp!
