We did our last pumpkin seed count this week. The children are becomig comfortable grouping by tens Yeah! During this short week children spent time working on research and discussing our SK Tree,
Golden Blossom. After looking at sketches the children drew, colored and painted their trees. The next day they revisit

ed their written research and met with me in small groups to write our tree. The class is to be congratulated on beautiful and informative tree storyboards that on on display outside of the room. The self portriats the children did of themselves were outstanding. They seemed to enjoy having the opportunitiy to think about some of the special moments they have spent in SK thus far. Tuesday the children made house and cars out of pattern blocks. Their discussions, collaborations, and imaginations were activated as they explored this activity. Later small groups visited
Rainbow Fruit Stand and purchased a variety of colorful fruits and then shared their purchases with classmates. This was a great opportunity to review coins and their value in an informal setting. The children visited math and literacy centers this week and estimateed unife

x cubes as well. The class continues to discover new words that are in the -at, -am, and -ap word families. Enjoy the decodable book
The Park and the coin activities that were in this week's Friday Folders. The children had fun making birthday cards for Hunter as we celebrated his birthday. I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to meet with you and discuss the progress of your child. Hip, Hip, Hooray for our SK! See you soon. Would anyone be interested in making a pie with the children Friday?
