SK is Amazing

The children all agreed that our visit to the Milwaukee Public Museum was the most exciting part of our week. With clipboards in hand, each child set out to explore, discover, research and collect data while visiting exhibits that focused on interactive drama, live insects, scientific exploration, and a classroom laboratory. When you view the picture album you will see the interest and enthusiasm for learning that overtook the class. A special thanks to the parents who engaged the children and assisted them throughout our time at the Museum. Later, when documenting in their scrapbooks, the children felt that it was important to write about each area of the Museum they had visited and that was particularically impressive to me! The children have also shown a great deal of tenacity this week in attempting to complete a unifex train that was midway into the Lincoln Center when the project had to be suspended until next week. If you venture into our classroom you would see hundreds of cubes waiting to complete their journey. The North Shore Fire Department presentation on fire safety was well received by the SK grade level. The children felt that having a place to meet, and remembering the "stop, drop, and roll" slogan were the most important messages that they wanted to share with their parents. A big thanks to Mrs. Choren for leading a discussion on the meaning on being respecful to yourself, others, and things around you. We completed our week with a visit from "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" himself and enjoyed apples, pears, plums, strawberries, and oranges. Sounds likes a great fruit salad for this weekend! Enjoy time with friends and family. Hip, Hip, Hooray for USM!

  1. Hi Mrs. Camp and the SK class,
That sounds like the yummiest snack ever! Not too many kids get to eat all the things the Very Hungry Caterpillar did all at once! WOW! Hopefully none of you have formed a chrysalis and are undergoing metamorphisis!! I will check to see if I see any of you with wings on Monday. You are such great learners and so fun. I loved going on your museum adventure with you. XO Mrs. Jochmann (Lilian's mom)

  2. Hi Mrs. Camp and class,

We just read your wonderful birthday cards- I could tell you worked very hard on these cards and that you are a bunch of creative and artistic kids. Most importantly, Savanna is fortunate to have a class full of kind friends.

Thank you for making Savanna's birthday special.
