A Week of Learning and Green Meadows Farm Too

The class came to school eager to share their thought about weekend that Soon, they were writing about them, WOW! Each child in his/her own way is becoming a capable and confident and independent author and illustrator. They can organize their thoughts and express them in a meaningful and expressive manner. Two days, later after reading several stories stories about the farm, the class wrote about My Visit On the Farm. By the way, these stories were written BEFORE out field trip to Green Meadows. With luck. these stories will soon be posted on the hallway bulletin board for you to enjoy. We had a great time visiting with Anthony's family on his Special Person Day. Most children guessed that Anthony wants to be a hockey player when he grows up, and yes at present that is his ambition. Go Anthony! The children visited math and literacy centers this week and enjoyed putting together several new puzzles together as well. Often during activities time you'll see children picking up books and reading them. Often other children will stop, clean up, and so the same. Please encourage your child to coverse with you about decodable books 15, Up, Up Up and 16, Is It a Fish? and then read and discuss them together. Look for various word families that occur throughout the books. That reminds me, the class did the "en" word family book and reviewed various word families using chalk boards. The class made neat birthday cards and celebrated Jimmy's birthday today. To make it even more special, he lost a front tooth too! Little Chick is growing bigger by the day. He/she is pretty smart and has bonded with a stuffed chick that shares the coup with him/her. We knew we were on for a special day when our buses arrived first on the property. Great weather and children eager to explore Green Meadow's Farm made for a great beginning to our adventure. The picture album tells the story so I'll invite you and you family to gather around the computer and let the good times roll. Many thank to Makenzie's dad and Emery, Jackson, and Bella's moms for being such outstanding chaperones on trip. Enjoy SPRING! See you on Monday!
