Our small class box has been fill with baby items and after we rally the number of items that have sent during the first week we will place the them in the SK box downstairs. The children continue to making number families with unifix cubes. This week the children tossed beans using various combinations in the number families of four, five, six, and then recorded their findings in bean books. After completing books seven through ten a really neat mathematical transition will occur. We continued to tally coins and their values and will be begin the skill of coin exchange next week. Throughout the week the children have put a great deal of time and effort in creating an interesting story that summarizing their Spring Break Adventures. They are almost complete and will in ready for you to view the middle of next week. Our visit to the Art Museum an experience that the children will take with them each time they visit the Museum. I request that you ask your child if he/she would like to be a Docent and take your family, relatives, or perhaps, out of town guests to view the ABCs our beautiful Milwaukee Art. The A is for Art book by Marjorie Nelson Moon is an alphabetical tour of the Museum and would excellent addition to your family library. The cost is not more than fifteen dollars and the gift shop could probably mail it to you. "Wow, Mrs. Camp you certainly have strong opinions on the subject, one might yes. And yes I do ! Many children would eagerly accept the responsibility of being a Docent for your family. Speaking of art, the children completed their Eric Carle paper by creating colorful designs on it. The class will be using a portion of their work to design an SK collage that will be on view at the SK Mother's Day Art Show, May 4th. The collage will be raffled off at that time with the proceeds going to Save the Children. LS We just received an e-mail that the first grade sent $3,508.72 to Save the Children/Japan. Way to go USM!
