New Adventures Great Fun!

The class tallied the baby products for the Hunger Task Force and found that we have donated fifty-three items. We have more items in our box to count for Monday and are hoping to contribute much more before May 11. Remember to help the JK Can Collection by placing your items in the fenced area in the front circle by the April 26th. The Rummage Sale this weekend another way that our school helps our area community. Hip, Hip, Hooray for Earth Day! Hopefully you received and are enjoying the world that your child made with recycled paper. The songs on the back are special reminders that we should all find ways to clean and protect Mother Earth. A book that sends this meaningful message and would make a great addition to your family library is Dear Children of the Earth by Schim Schimmel. The class made addition equations with their bean books. Great work! Wait until you see what we do with them this week! I would like to suggest that if your child does any addition or subtraction with pencil and paper this summer, please have him/her make the problems with real object before doing written work. Do you know that we are learn to tell time in five minute increments ?It will be more meaningful for your child. The children used their Eric Carle paper to help make the Rainbow Seahorse that will be raffled off for Save the Children/Japan during the Mother's Day Art Show May, 4th from 6:00-7:00. Wasn't the invitation terrific? We are looking forward to seeing you during this special event. SK is all excited by the duck and chick eggs that arrived this week. Ask you child to tell you how we are taking care of the eggs. The children may ask if they can crack an egg open. If follow though and listen to what your child has to say. Thanks! On the blog picture Album you'll see that each child sorted animals that we born alive or born in an egg. After our study the children will sort them again to see if they want to make any changes. The children ended the week by making their own chick theory, How does a chick hatch? You'll hear and learn so many exciting things about chicks in the next few week! Enjoy your weekend with friends and family!
